JR’s Favorite Chicken – A Snellville Farmers Market Favorite

JR’s Favorite Chicken – A Snellville Farmers Market Favorite

While visiting my local Farmer’s Market here in Snellville I had an opportunity to acquire and add a new seasoning blend to my kitchen. This is easy peasy, lol. Simply choose your cuts of chicken, I personally like thighs. Then sprinkle them with the seasoning. Cook for an hour, I use stoneware to cook in which I’m crazy about which always cuts the time on my cooking. Your cooking time will be determined by how tender you like your meet. If you haven’t figure it out I enjoy meet that is easy to cut and falls off the bone.

Mill Creek Spice Company is located in Dacula, GA and can be found online @Millcreekspice.com or at The Snellville Farmers Market Located at 2342 Oak Rd in front of Snellville City Hall. Opening day this year is June 2nd.

Olive oil

Olive oil

Whether applied to your face or body, olive oil will penetrate deep into the skin and provide a long-lasting shield of moisture to keep skin smooth and supple. Used either as a night cream or daily moisturizer, it is best applied to damp skin, when water can help reduce any feeling of greasiness. Recommended for normal/combination skin, dry/damaged skin and mature/aging skin.

Olive oil has been said to be good for:

  • keeping the skin moist and wrinkle free
  • prevent skin disorders such as acne and eczema
  • It reduces skin inflammation and helps in curing several skin disorders such psoriasis.
  • Makeup Remover: Just a drop or two of extra virgin olive oil on a cotton pad is all it takes to gently and effectively remove eye makeup without irritating the delicate skin around the eye area. The biggest added advantage is that when used consistently, olive oil can soften the skin around the eyes and smooth out wrinkles.

Kokum Butter

Kokum Butter

Kokum butter promotes elasticity of the skin and stores damaged skin. Heal fissures of the lips, hands and soles of feet. Helps regenerates skin cells & reduces degeneration of skin cells. Kokum Butter has excellent emollient properties and very high oxidative stability.

1. Antioxidants
Kokum fruits are loaded with antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals responsible for cell damage as well as increased risk to disease and infection.

2. Healing properties
Research also shows that kokum fruits may have healing and soothing properties when applied to wounds.

3. Skin care
Kokum seed works well on sensitive, dry, burnt or irritated skin. As a precaution, make sure you consult a doctor prior to applying kokum butter if you have an existing skin condition to avert potential side effects.

Kokum Butter does not clog pores. So you can apply it all over your scalp to feed your hair the rich essential oils in the butter without any worry of clogged hair follicles. It helps cells oxygenation and makes the nutrients more readily available to the hair and thereby promotes hair growth.

4. Hair conditioner. Simply rub some between your fingers and smooth it on your hair after your final rinse to get softer and more manageable hair.

5. Strengthens the hair from the roots and wards off hair breakage. Applying it mixed with oils during an oil massage. If you have very frizzy hair, you can rub some Kokum Butter on your hair to make it softer and manageable.

6. Promotes Elasticity of the skin by softening the skin.

Benefits of Kokum Butter for the Skin

The excellent emollient properties of Kokum Butter make it one of the best candidates for dry skin treatment. Simply apply a pea sized amount on your dry skin and you will find the dryness vanish in a matter of seconds since the butter gets absorbed into the skin really fast. It works very well as a lip balm to prevent chapped and dry lips. The antioxidants in the butter helps in the regeneration of cells and regular use helps prevent wrinkles. Rather than buying a store bought cream which has other chemicals and artificial perfumes in it, you can use our Head 2 Toe Love Butter to pamper your skin. It can be used both on the face, body and in hair.
